    Poor Performance / Low FPS

Hey everyone, we have been seeing the reports of poor performance and low frame-rates some players are getting and we are investigating a few leads on what could be causing these issues. It would be a huge help if anyone experiencing these issues could post their system specifications and any notes on what seems to influence the performance of the game.

To get your system specifications you can either use dxdiag (Hold Windows Key + R, type in dxdiag and press enter, save all information button) or Speccy. The most useful information would be your Operating System, GPU, CPU, and RAM. If you post your specifications please use code blocks.

I'm the same as above unable to play without the stuttering, game appears to lock up whenever an action is performed, sound also stutters horribly even if animations are running smoothly Speccy used to get the below specs
    Code:
    		Operating System
    			Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit SP2
    		CPU
    			Intel Pentium D 940
    			Presler 65nm Technology
    		RAM
    			3.00GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 266MHz (4-4-4-12)
    		Motherboard
    			Intel Corporation D945GCZ (LGA 775)	57 C
    		Graphics
    			HP LP2065 (1280x1024@60Hz)
512MB NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT (ASUStek Computer Inc)
as a side note I should mention that I have set everything to low or off graphics wise and still gets the stutters

I've noticed that the shadows are causing HUUUUGE amounts of lag, Turn your shadows to LOW! Apoc said that it works fine on his computer, but 90% of the people that play pce (Like me!) don't have a super computer, and thus, it lags, A LOT. I'd bet you 85% of the time it's the shadows that is causing lag, Not the servers.

I did an experiment and tried PC;E out on a Windows XP, (comes with pretty much everything the sys minimum asks for)
FPS-10-15 lowest settings , this disappointed me since the expected fps-20-30, anyways, just gotta play it on my other pc

Btw-I noticed that whenever i wanted to change the resolution- it works fine but whenever i wanna change say:lighting, it always turns back to 800x400 resolution and asks me if i want to keep the resolution, i always have to check no, but this is getting prettybuggy

btw, is this suppose to appear?

One thing that original PC did that this doesn't seem to do is Simplify the textures and flora.

Take Ubase for example, in PC if you set graphics to low it would toss all the short grass and concrete slabs on the ground and you would be left with just dirt

this may be an issue that is bridging the gap between why PC runs so great but PCE runs badly

    Code:
       Operating System: Windows 8.1 64-bit (6.3, Build 9600) (9600.winblue_gdr.131030-1505)
               Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
    System Manufacturer: LENOVO
           System Model: 20255
                   BIOS: 83CN53WW(V3.00)

                 Memory: 6144MB RAM
    Available OS Memory: 5328MB RAM

        DWM DPI Scaling: Disabled
         DxDiag Version: 6.03.9600.16384 64bit Unicode
PS, I also get the werid lag spike/stutters it'll be smooth for 5 seconds an then freeze for 2 seconds.

It's okay for the most part if I make a server for just me, just a bit of sound clipping when I reload or heal as a human.

    Code:

All my specs are above the recommended ones except RAM, which should still be adequate; and I can play Metal Gear Rising and Crysis no problem. Ugh. Frustrating. I really want to play it but all I can do is run around on a free roam server with just me.

    Hello

At first, I thank developers for amazing game. The visual quality of game is outstaning. There are bugs as always in beta stage. Some of them made me laugh out loud, raptor's crouching after running

Unfortunately, I have performance issue with your game which don't allows me to enjoy the game in full glory. I've played on Forgotten Outpost with highest graphic settings I had barely 25 fps while I wasn't moving. It is the border of smooth gameplay. The FPS dropped to 22 fps in the forest. On U-base I had max 27-29 fps. I'm a bit disappointed because of bad preformance of game. I own 3-month old laptop, which costed me around 1600$. I have no problems to run BF3 on high settings for example. What is more, my laptop satisfies recommended system sequirements, which are avaliable on steam store page. Of course it is still beta, so I hope the performance will be improved in next patch. The game needs to be optimised

I've found one thing, which cause me FPS drop as well. Please, check it. Dilo/Crylo spit on human's face. I tested this with my firiend and I used FRAPS to measure it. The more Dilo/Crylo spit me, the lower FPS I have. My FPS dropped from 25 FPS to 17 FPS when Dilo spat me 4-5 times (The highest graphic settings).

    There is my laptop specifications:

I am getting performance of ~15fps with everything set as low as possible except for model quality, and there are still lag spike when it goes down to 5 or less whenever I turn around corners, when there is too much going on, or playing ptera(which is completely impossible), basically, whenever the game has a lot to load. there are also times when the game just pauses itself for a second or two and seems to load the whole map again.

Looking in a direction of a few players on certain maps, Being involved in larger groups of players, Running in anything higher that 800x600 Resolution (my native is 1600x900), Maps with a lot of foliage, like Snowbound, Ubase, Marsh.. Well most maps except docks really. All these cause fps issues and lag.

I know that my computer is crap, but it's all I have, through the use of .ini file edits, I got PC 1.3 to run okay. I tried to edit the usual culprits in PC:E's basesystemsettings.ini and it seemed to help a little but my textures break upon loading of a new map or round now.

I would like to note that you can turn shadows off by setting World Detail to medium or low, I thought this was odd but doing so gave me a 30+ FPS boost.
