I have all my settings on low, and my game still seems to lag occasionally.
It happens almost nonstop (dramatic framerate reduction, audio lag).
When I play as ptera, it REALLY gets laggy, more so I've noticed than with other dinosaur classes.
It happens with humans as well. It also happens just on the main menu and such.
Moving the camera around seems to make it worse, but I'm not sure if that's truly related or just a coincidence.

I find it very weird, because I was able to play the original primal carnage on medium settings with no noticeable framerate drops under any circumstances, but I can barely play PC:E with everything on the lowest settings possible.

    *EDIT*
It seems to happen the least (or have the least severe impacts) on the TDM Snowbound, but I'm not sure what the map has to do with it exactly. I've also noticed that it happens more severely and frequently when I spawn and for a good duration after (but it never COMPLETELY stops, just becomes slightly less frequent)

Well, I am also having quite some difficulty while playing Extinction.

I am having same results no matter what I do. I have tried disabling/lowering everything as possible, and using it on the highest settings.
From the time I first boot up Primal Carnage Extinction I will get one of two things. The main menu leads me to Laggy spikes depending om backgrounds. Having the Compys just gives me lag, The one with the chopper is completely fine, And the background with the corpse will only lag when there is a lot of movement.

    Beyond that:

Game play is odd. No matter what setting combination I have The game runs okay when standing. Running around and sprinting will cause split seconds of lag. Attacking and pouncing will cause major lag spikes, and also causes the sound to go hectic. The lag spikes will freeze the game for a few seconds.

Note. I only been testing on my own server with myself. Playing on a server is just lag. I can move about for a few seconds then a minute of sheer lag. Again tried every combination of settings you could imagine.

Set all graphical options as low as they can go, resolution set to 1366 x 768, averaging around 15 - 20 fps, sometimes tanking as low as 10 in busy crowds. Tyrants seems to cause me to run at a slightly higher frame rate and suffer fewer and less severe frame drops.
It's pretty much the same performance I got from Patch 1.3 on the original Primal Carnage, albeit then I was using high view distance rather than low/near that I am in PC:E.

Although I'm a little bit suspicious, I've got an nVidia GeForce GT 640M. ~2gb. Yet when I ran this, the nvidia card was ignored, and Intel HD graphics is there instead. Confused.

FPS is fine when ambient occulsion, bloom and such are turned off even on high and such settings. Just getting massive stuttering and audio loss/static constantly.

May be that my notebook is too weak to run it correctly, but considering that I get a decent FPS going and can run this, I'd think that is not the issue.

My FPS has sorta improved from the original game. However, it is still low. It stays around 15-20 FPS (From STAT FPS).

Also, my FPS seems to drop most on Utility Base compared to other maps. Especially as Scientist. Scientist on Utility Base (With 3D scope on) seems to drop my FPS a lot.

The Pyro's flamethrower and having Dilo spit on my screen also drops FPS.

Note: I do have everything on the lowest possible settings.

Edit: Noted that my FPS is lower and that my previous calculation was wrong.

I crash almost every 30 minutes unless I am on a server that stays on the same map and has an infinite round.
    *EDIT*
And frame-rate drops for me are pretty rare, but I do have this bug where I go from something like 80 ping to 900 ping out of nowhere. My internet should be fine though.

Since I was able to play Primal Carnage fine (besides lagging in the forest chasm and utility base) I assumed I could play Extinction fine too- or more so, REALLY wanted to play the game- but I think it wouldn't hurt for an experienced pair of eyes to go over and see if I have the required programming for this game. So-

    Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.140706-1506)
    Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
    System Manufacturer: Dell Inc.
    System Model: Inspiron 570
    BIOS: BIOS Date: 01/25/10 13:49:11 Ver: 08.00.15
    Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) II X2 240 Processor (2 CPUs), ~2.8GHz
    Memory: 6144MB RAM
    Available OS Memory: 6142MB RAM
Page File: 2557MB used, 9726MB available
    Windows Dir: C:\Windows
    DirectX Version: DirectX 11

When playing Extinction I have been having a lot of problems with lagging. In all classes I can't go a game without serious lagging and stuttering in both audio and movement. When confronted with a member of the enemy team, I can't dodge and move like I need to because it lags and blurs too much. Aiming to attack is also a problem due to lagging. :/ But, I am not 100% sure if it's the game or my computer so if someone would let me know if something is wrong that would be terrific.

I'm having low fps as well. I have to run the game in a lower resolution, and set everything to low/medium. Especially lighting quality seems to make a big difference in fps.

I'll post. I have a low-end computer, and I am generally below 20 FPS when I play, but I have the same frame-rate on 1.3, also with all my settings as low as possible. I've set everything to the lowest settings, except "Character Detail." The worst lag I get is from dilo spit, and I basically freeze. I've also noticed that maps with a lot of foliage lag more. Fire lags me as well, but it always has. And today I completely lost sound once when the game changed maps. I had to restart my game. (But I don't know if that's relevant.)

Edited my post to say that my FPS is lower than I calculated it to be. It's usually around 15-20 FPS.

    Mosasaur is amazing!

heres a thing, I installed this on my "in every way" inferior Desktop and it runs perfectly fine. Is this an OS issue

most people with problems seem to have win 7 or 8

my laptop is 8, but my desktop is XP and like before mentioned, i get no issues

For those who suffer from the 'stuttering' and periodic freezing, you might be able to fix them by disabling your audio hardware through the OS: Control Panel -> Sound -> Properties -> Disable, Although until an official fix arrives you might have to play without sound.

My FPS is usually in the upper 20's. When I enter a game there's a moment of lap and the FPS drops to 5-15, then everything is fine, and I can play for a while, unless I choose a new class, then upon respawn the same FPS dive happens. Also when a match ends and a new map is loaded, the sound turns off and I get this horrible static beeping noise for a bit, then it just goes silent throughout the next match, occasionally sounding off here and there.

    Humans lag less than dinos.

Ptera lags more than anything else.
